Are you looking for a family friendly activity in Perth? Look no further than a day out at the Aviation Heritage Museum in Bull Creek!

Not only is it a fun day out, a visit to the Museum is also budget-friendly, with adult entry (over 16) costing $15 per person and children (over 5) priced at $7.50 each. Family discounts are also available too, view all the options on our website HERE.

Here are just some of the reasons why a visit to the Aviation Heritage Museum is a great option for your next family outing.

  1. STEM Learning Opportunities

Foster a love of the all-important subject areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics in your family, with engaging and fun learning opportunities.

We have started construction for our phase one Young Aviators Area which upon completion will features several exciting simulator and virtual reality experiences, tailored especially for young people.

In addition, there are engine models on display and a cinema area to learn all about the basics of flight, through gliders powered aircraft and helicopters.

  1. Open Cockpit Days

Keep an eye on our social media pages on Facebook and Instagram to discover when the Museum’s open cockpit days are scheduled.

Children especially will love the opportunity to access certain aircraft cockpits, hop in the pilot seat and experience the tight spaces.

  1. Special Family Day Events

A schedule of Family Days are planned throughout the year, which feature the excitement of open cockpits, interactive displays, activities and giveaways.

Checkout social media for these opportunities and in the meantime, relive the excitement of our 2020 Family Day HERE.

  1. Tours and Experiences

Treat your family to some of the tours and experiences on offer at the Museum. Please note these are suitable for older children and do incur extra fees, on top of entry.

The best way to view some of the aircraft that the Museum has on display is by purchasing an aircraft or cockpit tour. Our informative guides explain the makeup of the aircraft as well as provide amazing insights into the use of the aircraft during its time and the bravery of those who flew and worked on the aircraft.

You will have the ability to get inside the aircraft to view the control panels, seating arrangements (some tight spaces especially in the Spitfire) and gain a better understanding of the uses of the elements within the aircraft.

Virtual reality experiences facilitate a certain insight and feeling of the encounters the brave personnel would have experienced at historical moments of time.

Please view the range of tours and experiences, for your family to enjoy, on the website HERE.

  1. Ease of Access and Parking

Your family’s day out will be stress-free, thanks to the central location of the Museum and plentiful parking options.

The Museum is located in Bull Creek, close to the Leach Highway exit of the Kwinana Freeway. Alternatively, if travelling via public transport, the bus stops right at the front of the Museum. There is plenty of free-parking located on-site, a short walk from the entry.
