Tour Description
Your aviation experience begins outside the aircraft as you walk around the Dakota’s fuselage to take in its shape, scale and purpose. You see how it was built to carry people and equipment over long distances, and how its design supported a wide range of operations.
You then board through the rear cargo door and step directly into the aircraft. The transition from open space to the interior is immediate, giving you a clear sense of how the Dakota functioned in service. Inside the cargo bay, you move past the bench seating where paratroopers once sat and consider how the space was used for both personnel and supply missions.
As you move forward, the structure narrows, and the layout becomes more defined. You follow the internal path used by the crew, observing how each section connects and how movement within the aircraft is managed.
The cockpit is the highlight of the tour. You sit in the pilot’s seat and look out from the same position used during operations. From here, you can study the layout, visibility and design that supported this aircraft throughout its service.
