Leading Aircraftman Wright was a member of a small detachment of No. 4 Squadron personnel attached to the 9th Australian Division. At 1315 hours on 24 September 1943 the army camp at Satelberg was subjected to air attack. Leading Aircraftman Wright was seriously injured and was admitted to 2/3 Australian Casualty Clearing Station and died of his wounds on 25 September 1943.
