Pilot Officer Edgar Seymour Woolcott (406895) (Pilot) was killed when Beaufighter A19-93 crashed and burned during takeoff at Ward’s Strip on 15 June 1943. Sergeant Robert Hasenohr (28902) (Navigator) died on 19 June 1943. The starboard tyre burst on take-off causing the aircraft to swing, strike a revetment and catch fire.
