During a non-operation training flight on 8 October 1942 in Beaufighter X8190, the starboard engine failed when the aircraft was at 9,000 feet and the pilot force landed the aircraft on Valley Q site at Newborough Islet, Anglesey. Both the crew members were killed in the forced landing.
