At 0900 hours on 25 May 1942 Beaufighter T4667 took off from Sumburgh to carry out a reconnaissance of the Norwegian coast. Nothing further was heard from the aircraft after take off and it did not return to base. Following post was enquiries and investigations, it was recorded in 1949 that the missing crew members were lost at sea.
