On 24 November 1942, 90th Squadron Mitchell 41-12996 crashed into the sea off the north coast of New Guinea in the vicinity of French harbour. Pilot Officer Robert Murray Wilson (406122) (Co-Pilot) was killed and he was the only casualty.
The following members submitted an eye-witness statement to the crash (Folio 17 of Pilot Officer Wilson’s Casualty File). It is not clear whether they were crew members.
