Brother of Flight Sergeant Desmond Victor White (430423)

At 2158 hours on the night of 3 May 1944, Lancaster LM515 took off from Kelstern to attack the military camp at Mailly-le-Camp, France. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after take-off and it failed to return to base. Within a few minutes of completing its attack, the aircraft was shot down at Trouan-le-Petit (Aube), 40 kms north north east of Troyes, France. All the crew members were killed.
