On a solo night training flight on 8 November 1942, Oxford X7111 flown by Trainee Pilot Leading Aircraftman Frank Stevenson (421094) (Killed in an Aircraft accident: 29 May 1944) ground looped while taking off at 2145 hours from the Werribee Satellite aerodrome and the aircraft struck and killed Flying Officer White. X7111 had received a signal to taxi out and take off from the Aerodrome Control Officer who was standing with Flying Officer White and other instructors.
