Lieutenant Weingarth was a graduate of the first course at the New South Wales Aviation School at Richmond in 1917.
Lieutenant Weingarth, was transferred from No. 4 Squadron to Home Establishment (No. 5 Training Squadron AFC) in August 1918 and killed in a flying accident at Minchinhampton Aerodrome on 4 February 1919. Lieutenant Weingarth was instructing Lieutenant William Henry Millard (Discharged: 24 July 1919) in Avro E.9310 when the aircraft crashed during a high angle turn. The Court of Enquiry concluded that there was insufficient speed through the turn and that the shortage of fuel inhibited the use of the engine to ameliorate the situation. Lieutenant Millard was seriously injured.
