At 1740 hours on 28 July 1942 Mosquito DK295 took off from Horsham St Faith as part of a force detailed to bomb the Krupps works at Essen, Germany. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after take-off and it failed to return to base. The aircraft and lost and both crew members were killed.
