At 1100 hours on 3 February 1943 Baltimore FA236 in mist and rain collided in the air with a Baltimore aircraft from No 55 Squadron RAF. Both aircraft crashed one half mile from landing Ground 86 on the side of the Cairo/Alexandria road.
