On 14 August 1944, Warrant Officer Watson, a Pilot, was killed in an air raid on Advanced Landing Ground B19 near Lingevres, France, when three anti-personnel bombs were dropped on No. 453 Squadron’s domestic area. Others were injured in the raid.
