Second Lieutenant Wall is a published author whose works include Songs of an Airman (published in 1917) and Letters of an Airman (published in 1918).

Second Lieutenant Wall proceeded to the UK in 1916 and joined the Royal Flying Corps, becoming a Flying Instructor in June 1917.  On 6 August 1917, along with student pilot Second Lieutenant John Clark RFC, he was killed in the crash of Shorthorn aircraft A7062 at Netheravon, Wiltshire.  The aircraft went into a spinning nose dive from 700 feet and broke up, crashing at Bulford Fields.
