On the 17 November 1942, Kittyhawk FL306 was one of 9 aircraft which set out on a long range reconnaissance of the Benghazi-Magrun road. At 1500 hours four enemy fighters were engaged and FL306 collided with one of these while attacking it. Both aircraft crashed on fire, and both pilots were killed.
