At 2227 hours on the 21 February 1944, Oxford LX670 took off from Dallachy airfield detailed to undertake night circuit and airfield swing training). After taking off on runway 050 the aircraft gradually lost height and flew into the sea. The wreck of the aircraft was seen on the shore of Spey
Bay and the crew members were killed.
