Squadron Leader Suter was seriously injured in the crash of Beaufort A9-113 at Nowra NSW on 8 September 1943 in which there were no fatalities.

On 13 August 1945, Squadron Leader Suter, an Observer, died of injuries received from a self inflicted gun shot wound to the head.
