At 1300 hours on 25 April 1943 Hurricane KX107 took off from RAF Maison Blanche for Goubrine, Tunisia, on a press courier service carrying despatches. The aircraft arrived at Euston Souk El-Khemis on 26 April. The aircraft left Euston presumably to return to Maison Blanche at 1245 hours on 27 April 1943, but it failed to arrive at its destination. Maison Blanche is about 10 miles east south east of Algiers, and Euston is 15 miles south of Beja, Tunisia. Following post war enquiries and investigations, it was recorded in 1948 that Flight Sergeant Stone had no known grave.
