On 15 May 1946, Leading Aircraftman Shaw, a Fitter Driver Motor Transport, died of injuries received in a vehicle accident. He was posted to No. 2 Personnel Depot for discharge from No. 13 Aircraft Repair Depot and was driving a car that collided with a truck on the Pacific Highway near Charlestown.
