On 12 February 1944, Leading Aircraftman Scott (Aircrew 11G Group 5), was run down by a truck at Los Angeles, California. He was in transit from Australia to Canada for further training. He had disembarked at Los Angeles on 8 February but was absent without leave when the draft left for Canada on 9 February 1944.
