On 17 March 1943, Beaufighter X8132 took off from Takali with other aircraft of the Squadron to act as an escort to Beauforts engaged on a shipping strike. Over the target many combats took place with enemy aircraft of different types, and it was possible that X8132 was shot down as it did not return to base. It was not seen to return from the target area after combat. It was later recorded that the missing crew members had lost their lives at sea.

The crew members of X8132 were:

Sergeant Lancelot Hood Schultz (411532) (Pilot)
Sergeant Willie Ackroyd Wainwright (1435595) (RAFVR) (Observer)
