Flying Officer Rowan was an Australian Cadet trained for the RAF who embarked for the UK on 10 January 1938.

On 10 May 1940, No. 40 Squadron Blenheim L8828 operating from Wyton crashed into the sea off Rotterdam and its three crew members were killed. Those members were:
