Flying Officer Rose flying Spitfire BR393 was reported missing on 8 January 1943. The aircraft was last seen in action some 15/20 miles north of Tamet landing ground, Libya, at 1713 hours on 8 January. Flying Officer Rose’s body was later found alongside his aircraft on 16 June 1943.
