Lancaster LM136 took-off from Station Wickenby on 20 July 1944 to bomb rail yards at Courtrai, West Belgium. The aircraft crashed in the North Sea and all the crew members were killed. Flight Sergeant Robertson’s body was washed ashore. All the others have no known grave.
