At approximately 0720 hours on 15 September 1943, Leading Aircraftman Roberts, an Electrician, was at the eastern end of the southern tarmac at RAAF Station Point Cook, and while in the vicinity of Oxford aircraft R6186, was struck by the port airscrew and received a fractured skull. He died of his injuries on 16 September 1943 in No. 6 RAAF Hospital, Heidelberg.
