At about 0300 hours on 7 July 1941 Leading Aircraftman Roberts died as a result of a motor accident at Selkirk, Manitoba. Leading Aircraftman Roberts (an Air gunner) was driving a rented car and had four passengers. The car was crossing a bridge, jumped the rail, and landed upside down on an embankment.
