At about 1640 hours on the 10th August 1944, Tiger Moth EM906, crashed at Limekilns Farm, Annan, Dumphries-shire, during a pin pointing and map reading training flight. The pilot was injured and Sergeant Paterson was killed. The aircraft was found crashed in a field. It had crashed into wind in a steep nose down position.
