On the 28 July 1941, Wellington X3198 took off from RAF Moreton-in-Marsh, for the Captain’s first solo cross-country training flight. The aircraft crashed on Carn Fadrum (1,206 feet above sea level) after the crew ran into fog near Llaniestyn, seven miles west south west from Pwllheli, Caenarvon. All on board were killed.
