Brother of Flying Officer Terence Blachford O’Reilly (402535)

After a bombing and strafing mission on 24 March 1944, Kittyhawk A29-627 flown by Pilot Officer O’Reilly struck a tree at the end of while landing at the Momote airstrip. The aircraft crashed, burst into flames and Pilot Officer O’Reilly died from his injuries.
