At about 0015 hours on 1 July 1944, Leading Aircraftman O’Callaghan, an Electrician, was killed in a motor car accident when travelling as a passenger in an Army vehicle on the Sandgate/Brisbane road in the vicinity of Cabbage Tree Creek.
