Flying Officer Oakley was an Australian Cadet trained for the RAF who embarked for the UK on 31 December 1937.

On 12 May 1940, Blenheim P6911 took off from Alconbury to attack Maastricht. The aircraft crashed near Munsterbilzen (Limburg), 8 km south south east of Genk, Belgium and there were no survivors.
