There is correspondence on his Service Record to indicate that Lieutenant’s Nicol’s date of death may be 15 October 1918.
On 16 October 1918, Lieutenant Nicol was killed in a motor vehicle accident in Salisbury, Wiltshire. He trained as a Wireless Equipment Officer and was attached to No. 88 Squadron RFC and then to the RAF School of Wireless.
