On 1 January 1946, Leading Aircraftman Murray, a Fitter Armourer, was accidentally killed. He was found on the main Newstadt road in Germany and had died from a heavy fall or blow to the side of the head. He was in a truck which overshot a comer and in helping the driver by opening the door and looking out into the darkness fell out when the truck was put into reverse.
