On 24 March 1944, Beaufighter 2069 took off from RAF Station Twinwoods Farm and crashed at 1447 hours at Easton Mendit, Northamptonshire. Both the crew members were killed and there were indications that the aircraft was low flying, hit a tree top, crashed and burned.
