At 1445 hours on 9 December 1942, Corporal Moebus, a Coppersmith, was on duty and riding a bicycle at the Bairnsdale aerodrome, when he was killed in a collision with a tractor being driven by Leading Aircraftman Lloyd Edward Stephens (13880) (Discharged: 6 December 1945).
