At 1717 hours on the night of 6 October 1944 Lancaster PB429 took off from Fiskerton detailed to bomb Bremen, Germany. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after take-off and it failed to return to base. At 2011 PB429 crashed hours at Leuchtrenburg Larnhorst on the east side of Aumund-Hammersbech, Germany. All the crew members were killed.
