Lancaster ME 852 took off from RAF Tuddenham at 2146 hours on the night of 12/13th August 1944, detailed to carry out a raid on Brunswick, Germany. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after take off and it failed to return to base The aircraft crashed and exploded in a forest at Becklingen and all the crew were killed.
