A Coroner’s Inquest found that Air Mechanic Marsden committed suicide while of an unsound mind.  He allowed himself to be knocked down by a train at Bacombe Bridge, near Wendover.  The inquest was presented with evidence of previous metal problems in Australia before enlistment and that his father had suicided in 1917.
