Wellington BJ691 took-off from Binbrook at 0059 hours on 7 September 1942 to attack Duisberg, Germany. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after take-off, and it did not return to base. Following post war enquiries and investigations, it was recorded that the missing crew members have no known grave.
