On 1 June 1944, Baltimore FW399 went missing believed shot down at around 1320 hours while shadowing an enemy convoy at approximate position 36.00N 025.00E. At 1305 hours a sighting report was received from the aircraft giving the position of the convoy as 10 miles south of Pholegandros. The crew members of FW399 were:
