Wellington LN516 took off at 1650 hours on the night of 16 October 1943 as one of a number of No. 150 Squadron aircraft detailed to attack Casale aerodrome, Italy. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after take-off and it failed to return to base. Later it was learned that all the crew had been killed.
