On 12 June 1947, Sergeant Jones, an Equipment Assistant, was struck by a falling stores rack, and died of his injuries. He was engaged in supervising the unloading of a steel rack from a four-wheeled trailer. During the unloading, the rack overbalanced falling on to Sergeant Jones and pinning him to the floor.
