At 0905 hours on 24 March 1945 Halifax MZ759 took off from Lissett detailed to bomb Gladbeck, Germany. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after take-off and it failed to return to base. The aircraft was shot down in flames in the target area. Four of the crew members were killed and three became Prisoners of War.
