On 8 September 1943, Flight Sergeant Hudson, an Airman Pilot, was admitted to Station Sick Quarters, Bundaberg, diagnosed with sub-acute Bacterial Endocarditis. On 1 October he was transferred to the 11th Australian General Hospital, Greenslopes, and on 15 October to No. 3 RAAF Hospital, Bradfield Park, New South Wales, where he died on 29 February 1944.
