On 22 January 1945 Typhoon RB361 flown by Flight Lieutenant Huddart was leading a formation detailed to attack supply trains. RB361 received a direct hit from an anti-aircraft battery concealed in a wood when attacking a train near Haltern, Germany after delivering a well-executed attack. The aircraft crashed at about 1200 hours and Flight Lieutenant Huddart was killed.
