At 1100 hours on 3 December 1940, Tiger Moth A17-32 crashed just outside the eastern boundary of the Narromine aerodrome and Flying Officer Hubbard was killed. The aircraft stalled at a height of 50 feet while it was gliding into land. It was considered that the probable cause of the accident was that the pilot turned quickly to avoid a probable collision with another aircraft.
