Lancaster NF907 took off from RAF Station Wickenby at 1735 hours on 18 February 1945 to carry a mining operation over the target “Rosemary” in the Kattegat area. Nothing further was heard from the aircraft after take off and it did not return to base. In 1949 it was reported that all efforts to find any trace of the aircraft and crew had been unsuccessful, and the crew had been recorded as missing lost at sea.
