On 15 July 1946, Leading Aircraftman Hobson, a Flight Rigger, died from an electric shock. He was using an electrically driven compressor to check on tyres on stored aircraft and inflate as required, and he received an electric shock when he was handling cable on which the insulation had been damaged, and a bare active wire exposed.
