Ryan Trainer aircraft A50-10 crashed just after takeoff from Macrossan at 1440 hours and its two pilots were killed. The aircraft climbed to about 200 feet in a gusty cross wind and then turned onto its back and dived, crashing into timbered country about 300 metres from the airstrip. Flying Officer Ingham was killed in the crash and Flight Lieutenant Hill died at 1600 hours. The crew members were:
