At 1950 hours on the night of 21 September 1943 Wellington BK200 took off from RAF Chipping Warden detailed to carry out a night navigation training exercise. On return to base at 0030 hours on 22 September, the aircraft overshot the flare path and crashed in line with the runway. All of the crew members were killed.
